SBTC Resolutions Committee welcomes submissions

The convention’s resolutions committee will soon begin its work of preparing its report for action by messengers to the SBTC annual meeting in Austin, November 13-14. Members of SBTC churches are welcome to submit resolutions for consideration beginning October 1 through 6:00 p.m., November 13.

Resolutions may be sent by email to Teri Edwards or by mail to Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, PO Box 1988, Grapevine, Texas, 76099, Attention, Teri Edwards. Mail submissions should include the submitter’s name, phone number, church membership. We also ask that mail submissions include a copy of the resolution on disc. We cannot be assured of receiving mail submissions sent after November 6. Please do not send handwritten resolutions.

A resolution should be an expression of the consensus of convention messengers on a timely subject. It should not seek to command action by a person or institution (that would be a motion). Resolutions are helpful to our convention by putting us “on record” regarding important issues and by offering encouragement toward biblical action to those reading the resolutions.

Resolutions submitted after November 10 should be hand carried to the SBTC booth at the annual meeting in Austin.

Please contact Teri Edwards at 817.552.2500 or toll free 877.953.SBTC with questions.
