Drama and Creative Arts
Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Creative Arts
When the church began to move outside its walls, we began to use such tools as puppets and clowns to reach the masses. During the 60s and 70s, youth choirs began traveling with their musicals which included more and more drama. Special pieces were written to incorporate choir, actors, mime and tableaus. Pageants have grown and many communities present Easter and Christmas pageants. Dinner theatres and drama revivals continue to reach the lost while they develop the talents of their participants. The exciting thing about this this ministry is that as the acceptance and development of new creative arts areas grow - so do the possibilities of more lay people becoming involved in preaching and teaching the gospel in unique ways to those who might not hear.
